Giant DEFEATED!!

Woohoo! I took a half day friday and James and I took my Ali van into the dealership. They fixed the window, lubed some parts down on the axel, so now the Brake sqeak that I was dreading was not the brakes!! It feels like a new van again!

I love to blog, and check others blogs....but I just keep neglecting mine!
Oh well!

Not to much to report. Our lives are actually pretty good right now. At church last week we studied David vs. Goliah. My pastor built this amazing Goliah giant thing and had it on the stage. He told us he made the face very generic so we could imagine who/what our giant in our lives was that we needed to face. I thought, and thought, and thought...the biggest giant I could think of? My van! It needs new tires and a brake check....oh and that pesty window that sometimes goes up and sometimes doesn't. That we have just not made the time to fix. How amazing is that?

We often are first to vocalize when things are not going the way we would like...but do you praise him and be thankful when things are just......I mean it's not like "oh my goodness" good right now. But we don't need for anything. And that is nice. Whoever you believe in, just be thankful.

I had a blast visiting in CA last week. Got to catch up with a lot of friends and family! I put over 700 miles on my rental car in a week. I had a blast and have about 400 pics to prove it. I am thankful that I was able to make that trip and spend time with people I care about. You never know with this life.

Now off to check out this website...my girl Macie joined some stunner shade of the month club...sounds kinda cool. I might just have to check it out =) Macie...do u get some kind of free shade if u refer a friend?? LOL!

Happy 4th of July! (weekend=))

This weekend was a nice family weekend...less the hubby =( He missed the good stuff! Oh well.
So tomorrow is doom day. I find out if the insurance is going to say if the accident was my fault or her fault. Of course I know it wasn't my fault, but she had so much old damage on her van. It's hard to tell....oh well! Pray for me!

....

So last blog was in march...ummm not so good! I guess I am just so used to keeping facebook updated. I'm so over myspace. I really need to just bite the bullet and close that bad boy!

So life has been pretty uneventful lately. We have been lucky to reconnect with several old high school friends. They have kept us busy on the weekends with bbq's and little day trips and such. It works!

James got promoted again so he is working allllll the tiiiiiimmmmmme! But such is life. I won't complain when the paychecks get bigger =) I am really encouraging him to start his own blog. He is a really good writer. I told him to check out my girl Macie's blog. She's an awesome writer. I can hear her talking as I am reading. luv ya Mace!

So since James is working more, Josh is starting daycare next week. Jodie is on summer break so it's not worth paying the enrollment fees and such to have her there for 2 months, so she will be spending some time at the office with me. Lucky for her we have an extra office and she can play on the computer, watch tv, do summer homework....My boss is pretty awesome for letting allowing this arrangement. He's a dad so he understands the daycare drama =)

Jodie is super excited about starting first grade. She asks pretty much every day about it. I can't believe it....time flies!

So can we please talk about how bad i need a pedicure. I mean it's not funny. But with James working every minute I am not....it's hard to go to the salon with kids in tow. Hopefully next weekend I will get it done. James is off on sunday....although here in the lone star state most everything shuts down on sundays. Maybe I will get lucky and find a rebel salon!

I am getting baptised on the 28th! I am really excited about it. I accepted Jesus as my personal savior a long time ago. But I have just never taken this step. My sister and mom will also be getting baptised with me. How awesome is that! What a life changing thing we get to experience together. Check one for another sign for up above that this is where we are supposed to be =)

So California...just a couple months away. I can't wait!!

Texas!

Yeah Haw!
We have almost been in Tx a month! Wow! Time flies when you still haven't gotten your drivers license and registration switched! LOL....30 days is just not long enough!
So we didn't quite make it to the rodeo yet...but we have went to the riverwalk and drove around downtown a lot. A couple times on purpose and a couple times on accident =) There is a lot to do around here and we can't wait until things settle down and we can plan a date night!
Work is going great for both of us. I bleed Allstate blue and James hinted at me being a workaholic at a church event the other night...but whatever! James is re-establishing himself at a new target and is ready to go back to school again.
Jodie is on and off with her new school. She had a problem with a bully that we had to squash rather quickly. But other then that, her teacher says she is way ahead in some areas and dragging a little in some areas that she hadn't gotten too yet in CA. She will be in school until June here so she still has plenty of time to make it work.
Josh is ready to go to school. We are checking out preK programs now so he can feel accomplished like Jodie. But other then that, he's still the rough n tough superhero you all know and love!
Roxie and Raven are handling the move well. If you didnt hear, they got out of our hotel room in phoenix, az on the way here. james drove around for hours after driving all day and amazingly found them! They are adjusting to not having a big yard, but are enjoying the 3-4 walks a day.
Guess that's about it....for now.
Love you all and keep in touch!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
So I guess it's officially over...but I'm still up so whatever! We had a great day full of love today. I had all these great intentions of dropping by everyones myspace page and giving some xmas love....but I just didn't have time =(

I worked christmas eve until about 5 pm, it was so fun! I really love retail. Granted I have only been back with it for a couple months....but it is fun right now! LOL! After I got home with hurried up and changed and headed to church. Service didn't start until 8 pm, but @ our church you have to get there EARLY or you won't get a seat, you'll be stuck in the bleachers or the overflow rooms and it's just not the same. I know God is everywhere....but still. So we waited patiently in the heated tent for about an hour before scoring a 3rd row seat. PERFECT! It was a beautiful ceremony and really forced me to refocus. I am who I am, my family is good and we are blessed. I know that I can sleep at night knowing that I have made God and my family proud. My Church is a great backbone and I am so thankful for it.
We got home around 10 pm and hurried to make some cookies with Santa. I had a houseful of teenagers all week so you would have thought we would have done the cookie thing already...but again...no time!
This am we were awakened around 8 am by our beautiful children. Thankfully, they enjoy sleep as much as we do so we didn't have a 5 am wakeup call like some of our friends got from their kids!! LOl! We opened the mountain of presents, James made us breakfast, and we watched the parade. After the fun and food settled, me and the kids loaded up and went to Dad's for a couple hours and yummy christmas lunch. We had fun opening more presents and eating! Josh and Dad had a huge "battle" and it was so funny! They were both wore out! After a couple hours over there, we headed back home to meet Victoria and her kids for dinner at our house. James had made a yummy turkey and Victoria fixed everything else while me and the kids were in route back to our home. It is so great to have a bff like her, cooking dinner in my kitchen on christmas, I mean really does it get much better then that? So we all ate together and played with the kids new toys.
We really are so blessed. I know a lot of changes have happened the last couple weeks, and will continue for the next couple months...but I believe we are headed in the right direction. God has a plan for us and I feel good about it now that I have let him take control. Funny....since I have let go...God had blessed me with a new job in Tx and more opportunity for growth for James as well...funny how that works!
Well much love to you all. Thanks for being a part of our lives! We love you!!
Now back to my cleaning...I have a open house in the am =(
